Mere Sohneya – Semiclassical Beginner Class – Thursdays 7pm

Beginners, we heard your request for a semiclassical piece and we are sharing this wonderful, romantic routine to Mere Sohneya from Kabir Singh! This was originally taught in a 1-night workshop in 2019, and Drea is very excited to share this full choreography with our wonderful Level 1 class. So join us to learn the grace and gestures of semiclassical; and dedicate this song either to your Sohneya, or to loving yourself. New in Term 2 – 8 week courses, by popular demand. This class is perfect for beginners or those who have never attempted semiclassical, as we will begin with the foundations of the form, and go through Kathak drills to learn body posture, arm and hand positions and spins.

Everyone is welcome in this graceful dance class, even if you have never danced before, so grab your friends and join us for this gorgeous routine in-person in Fortitude Valley & streamed online from the studio. This class includes a package of tutorials so you can strengthen your learning and you never have to worry about catching up or keeping up, if you learn a little slower! This class will be prepared for an (optional) stage performance on June 25th. All are welcome even if you have two left feet and have never even thought of dancing before.

• Tutorials: Access to this class includes tutorials provided via an exclusive locked page of our website. Package tutorials are provided for you to supplement your learning and become a stronger dance at home

• Studio Location: Level 4, 420 Brunswick St, Fortitude Valley (entry via Berwick St, doors are next to the Institute of Modern Art, buzz us at ‘ADC studio’ for entry)
• Parking: Street parking is free after 7 pm. Some free parking is available at 421 Brunswick St (entry via Ivory St), check the signs.
• Perform! Dancers who learn Mere Sohneya can join us for performance opportunities in 2023! The final routine will be filmed in the final class, casually! Come have fun!
• Capacity: Minimum numbers are 7 for the class, maximum of 35.
